Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site earn us a commission if you buy something after following them. Those links are labelled Sponsored wherever they appear. The tools themselves are free, and stay free.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link carries a code that tells the other company we sent you. If you then sign up or subscribe, they pay us a share of what you paid. You pay the same price either way — the commission comes out of the seller's margin, not out of your pocket.
Where these links appear
Only in a clearly marked box below a tool, and only where a paid product genuinely does something the free tool cannot. There are no affiliate links inside the tools, none in the body text of a page, and none hidden behind ordinary-looking words. Every one of them opens in a new tab and is marked up as a sponsored link so search engines can see it for what it is.
How we choose what to link to
We link to products we would name anyway when someone asks what to use after the free tool runs out of road. A company cannot buy a mention here, and no advertiser sees a page before it is published or gets any say in what it says.
We are not neutral, and it would be silly to claim otherwise: we are paid if you buy. That is exactly why the boxes are labelled and separated from the rest of the page — so you can weigh the recommendation knowing who benefits from it.
What it does not affect
Nothing about how a tool works. Every tool runs entirely in your browser and behaves identically whether or not you ever click a sponsored link. We do not rank tools, hide features or degrade anything to push a paid product.
Advertising is separate
Display advertising, where it runs, is sold by third-party ad networks and is not the same thing as an affiliate link. How advertising handles your data is covered in theprivacy policy.
