File and data converters

Move data between formats without installing anything or handing files to a server.

Which one do I need?

Why the file never leaves your device

Every converter here runs in the browser, on your own machine. That is not a slogan: it means there is no upload queue, no file-size cap, no daily limit and no copy of your document sitting on somebody else's disk. For a holiday photo that hardly matters. For a signed contract, a scan of an ID or a client's export it matters a great deal, and it is exactly the category people paste into free online tools without thinking.

Pick the format before the quality slider

Most of the saving in an image comes from the format and the dimensions, not from squeezing quality. WebP is the safe default everywhere; AVIF goes further but encodes slower and is not supported by every browser. And resizing a 4000-pixel photo down to the 1200 pixels your layout actually shows removes far more weight than any quality setting will.

HEIC, PDF and CSV each have a catch

A JPG converted from HEIC is usually larger than the original, because HEIC compresses roughly twice as well — you are trading size for compatibility. Merging PDFs preserves whatever the source pages were, including a scan's resolution. And in CSV the delimiter is not always a comma: Excel writes semicolons in much of Europe, and a value with a leading zero is a postcode, not a number.

What these tools will not do

They do not edit PDFs, remove pages, run OCR or repair a damaged file. They convert, compress, resize and merge. Password-protected files are flagged rather than silently skipped.
